Overview
In this second biennial conference, and first in-person clinico-radiologic symposium on tumors of the alimentary tract from esophagus to anus, we are excited to host faculty who are world-renowned experts in the management of these tumors. Alimentary oncology exemplifies a dynamic, rapidly shifting landscape of evolving treatment paradigms and diagnostic challenges providing a wealth of opportunity in the realm of imaging, liquid biopsy, artificial intelligence and genetic-alteration-targeted treatment. Immunotherapy has become a potential game-changer for sub-populations of patients with esophageal and rectal cancer, placing new demands on the multidisciplinary team and turbo-charging new clinical trials. We will push the envelope with lectures on radiologists as active clinical trialists and update our knowledge with discussions of new molecular imaging and theranostic agents.
With lecturers who are instrumental in prior and ongoing pivotal multi-center national clinical trials and a cache of incredible case material to match, we are confident this CME activity will continue to provide practice-changing value to the GI oncology medical community and their patients.
Who Should Attend
The target audience for this course includes Radiologists as well as GI Medical Oncologists, GI Surgical Oncologists, Gastroenterologists, Radiation Oncologists, and pathologists as well as associated trainees.
Objectives
- Discuss the scope and demographics of the cancer
- Explain the role of imaging in screening, staging, restaging and surveillance
- Identify challenges and limitations of imaging modalities and of various response assessment metrics
- Outline the standard of care treatment for each cancer and the role of the multidisciplinary team approach
- Recognize the most recent trends in treatment and diagnosis changes and ongoing clinical trials
- Create added-value reporting templates at your institution or practice that will carry forward and spread your new knowledge to implement into practice
