Spine tumor management has evolved dramatically over the past decade with the development of advanced radiation, surgical, and interventional techniques. The NOMS framework will be used as a foundation to provide attendees with the tools to integrate new technologies and evidence-based medicine that will lead to optimal care for your patients in a quickly changing oncology landscape.
This one-day live, virtual multidisciplinary series of lectures will provide information about the diagnosis and treatment of patients with spinal tumors. Surgical, interventional, radiation, and pharmacological treatment options will be discussed.
The program will consist of a series of lectures, case studies, and live Q&A with faculty.
Who Should Attend
This symposium is designed for physicians, physician extenders, and nurses in practice and training, in the fields of internal medicine, family practice, neurology, medical and radiation oncology, interventional and diagnostic radiology, pain management, physiatry, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery who are interested in advancing their understanding of primary and metastatic spinal tumors.
Objectives- Describe the NOMS decision framework as the cornerstone of multidisciplinary care for spine tumors.
- Recognize the ever expanding role of Spine Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy in the treatment of metastatic and primary spine tumors
- Explore the evolution toward minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of spine metastases.
- Assess when percutaneous cement augmentation is not enough in the treatment of pathologic fractures.
- Discuss the complexities of spine-tumor rehabilitation.
- Examine new techniques in oncologic pain management.
- Define unique rehabilitation needs in the cancer patient.
