After completing this activity, participants will be aware of advances in evidence-based care for common outpatient cardiovascular conditions seen in the primary care office and will be able to provide care following current guidelines, select appropriate tests and imaging studies, and refer patients when needed.

  2. select appropriate testing for cardiovascular conditions that are often seen in the primary care office.
  3. recognize and manage cardiovascular issues that would prompt referral to a cardiologist, surgeon, or vascular specialist.
  4. describe the current guidelines for commonly encountered cardiovascular conditions.
  5. order the optimal imaging studies when needed to evaluate for a cardiovascular issue.
