Overview:
A wise person once said that if we love our children more than any animosity we hold for one another, then the world will truly be a much better place. Children are our future, and their health and well-being are critical to our society. It is now clear that human health throughout life starts with good prenatal care before birth. With a rising pediatric population in the Middle East, developing nations in the region are focusing greater attention on prenatal, infant and pediatric healthcare, thereby investing in the future. The advent of the Abraham Accords between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and other Arab neighbors, has created opportunities for collaboration and exchange. The field of medicine is an example where common interests in healing and improving the human condition can be a strong catalyst for international collaboration, with the mutual goals of sharing knowledge, improving outcomes for our patients, and building sustainable relationships for friendly exchange.
It is with these concepts in mind that leaders at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the United States, Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel, and Corniche Hospital together with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City from SEHA Abu Dhabi Health Services, in United Arab Emirates have joined together to host the 1st International Middle East Fetal-Neonatal Cardiovascular Disease Conference. This 2-day state-of-the-art, live in-person and virtual hybrid educational conference will be held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Friday and Saturday October 28-29, 2022, with an optional fetal echocardiography imaging simulation workshop on Sunday, October 30, 2022. We have invited leading experts in the field from the region and around the world to lecture and interact with a global community of attendees interested in
learning about the latest standards and innovations of care for the fetus and newborn with heart disease. The field of prenatal and neonatal cardiovascular care is a unique collaborative aspect of medicine which spans a number of specialties including genetics, obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, imaging, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, cardiac surgery, pediatric intensive care, and ethics. Included for discussion in our conference are topics such as: genetics of heart disease, fetal and newborn imaging, review of specific fetal cardiovascular conditions, obstetrical and maternal care, innovative fetal therapies, care of the newborn with heart disease including catheter and surgical interventions, social aspects and long-term outcomes of congenital heart disease in the middle east, and other subjects. We invite your participation in this exciting learning experience and look forward to our building relationships that will expand and grow to our professional benefit and to the benefit of our patients. We are excited to welcome you to Abu Dhabi on October 28-30, 2022
