His significant contributions to the field of endocrine in pregnancy continue to shape how we practice today. His philosophy of excellence in patient care and his values of integrity and collaboration are the foundations of this symposium. The goal of this program is to provide a comprehensive and current update in the management of endocrine disease as related to pregnancy, a unique and challenging time in patients’ lives. Management of endocrine disease during pregnancy has become increasingly multifaceted as new evidence-based management strategies emerge. This inaugural program presents standards of practice as well as forward-looking perspectives representing the most current state of endocrine medicine. The talks focus on recent advancement and recommendations in the management of gestational diabetes, the long-term impact of metabolic disease for mother and child, the role of advanced technologies including continuous glucose monitors, and fetal ultrasound, unique considerations in pregnancy for patients with PCOS, pituitary disease, and Graves’ Hyperthyroidism, and the current debate of universal thyroid screening. Presentations combining evidence-based medicine and clinical experience, challenging cases, and panel discussions from audience questions, help inform practice decisions in an era of complex clinical challenges.
ObjectivesBy the end of the course, participants will be able to:- Counsel patients diagnosed with gestational diabetes in regards to screening, medical management, lifestyle changes, pregnancy and postpartum implications to mother and child, and available technologies.

- Examine the unique challenges for caring for patients with PCOS and pituitary disease to best optimize care prior to, during and after pregnancy.
