Harvard 4th Annual Update In Neuro-Oncology 2024

+ Include:  videos +  pdf, size:  GB

Course Audience: neurologists, oncologists

Overview:

Neuro-oncology is a rapidly evolving multi-disciplinary field, which involves the medical, radiation, and surgical management of pediatric and adult patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS). In addition, modern molecular neuropathology and neuroradiology concepts are essential for accurate diagnosis and classification. This three-day CME course, Annual Update in Neuro-Oncology, is designed to provide an international audience with a comprehensive review of the diagnosis and management of pediatric and adult patients with primary and metastatic CNS and PNS tumors and neurological complications of cancer. Our target audience will be the providers involved in the care of adult and pediatric neuro-oncology patients (oncologists, radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, and neuropathologists). The course will also be of high relevance to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, pharmacists, and nurses.

Who Should Attend

  • Specialty Physicians
  • Physician Assistants
  • Nurses
  • Pharmacists
  • Psychologists

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define the role of molecular biomarkers in the accurate diagnosis and classification of pediatric and adult CNS and PNS tumors.
  • Determine standard and novel treatment approaches to pediatric and adult CNS and PNS tumors.
  • Recognize and manage neurological complications associated with new cancer therapies.
  • Identify and manage long-term complications of CNS and PNS tumors and their treatment.
