OBJECTIVES

  • Increase the participants’ knowledge to better perform and/or interpret MSK ultrasound examinations.
  • Identifynormal hand/wrist anatomy with MSK ultrasound imaging.
  • Demonstrate scanning protocols for performing hand/wrist ultrasound examinations.
  • Identify ultrasound characteristics associated with joint effusion and bursitis.
  • Recognize ultrasound findings associated with tendon and ligament abnormalities.
  • State diagnostic criteria for evaluation of ulnar and radial nerve abnormalities.
  • Recognize commonly seen soft tissue masses when evaluating the hand/wrist.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Physicians, sonographers, PAs and NPs, and other medical professionals who are involved with performing and/or interpreting musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations. Physician participants may include (but are not limited to) radiologists, sports medicine, orthopedics, rheumatology, PM & R, emergency medicine, primary care and physical therapy, and chiropractic medicine.
