The UCSF Center for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease is dedicated to providing comprehensive care for individuals with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and related illnesses. As part of this commitment, we are proud to present our eighteenth annual inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) symposium. This course will address advances in the medical and surgical management of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis including novel therapies and optimizing current medications. Management of special populations, complementary therapies and the latest research and clinical care goals will be presented.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS COURSE?
This symposium is designed for gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, internists, and advanced health professionals who participate in the management of this complicated patient population.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, attendees will refine their approaches to:
• Initiating appropriate therapy for the patient with moderate to severe IBD
• Management of the patient with severe ulcerative colitis
• IBD colon cancer surveillance
• Recommending fecal microbiota transplant
• Interventions for J pouch dysfunction
• Recognizing extraintestinal manifestations of IBD
• Discussing novel and complementary therapies with their patients
