Format:33 videos + 2 pdfs, size: 10.2 GB
Course Audience: radiologist
Overview:
Earn valuable CME credit with this comprehensive clinical update in neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging with a special focus on CT and MR.
Explore Key Topics in Neuro and Musculoskeletal Imaging
This course provides an update on the fundamentals of neuroradiology and musculoskeletal imaging. UCSF Neuro and Musculoskeletal Imaging includes case-based lectures on topics like the latest strategies for imaging of the peripheral nervous system, stroke and other neurologic emergencies, routine head and neck abnormalities, new metal reduction sequences for MRI, diagnostic approaches to wrist pain, etc. It will help you to:
- Refine imaging protocols for brain, head and neck, spine, nerve and musculoskeletal CT/MR imaging
- Implement newer MR sequences like 3D volumetric imaging and metal suppression techniques
- Discuss approaches for evaluation of common and uncommon abnormalities in neck and spine
- Attain the latest knowledge on MR arthrographic technique and findings
- Identify key imaging characteristics of bone tumors
Date of Original Release: May 1, 2016
The activity will provide the clinician with an update on various fundamentals of Neuro and Musculoskeletal imaging. This will include an emphasis on CT and MR, as well as other methods to improve imaging quality. The latest information on recent advances in neuro CT/MRI protocols and advanced MRI techniques will be presented, in order to improve differential diagnosis of the adult and pediatric brain, head & neck, spine and spinal cord lesions and musculoskeletal system.
It is estimated that it should take the average learner 21.0 hours, including completion of the activity evaluation, to conclude the activity.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After viewing this program, participants will be better able to:
- Identify specific imaging features of adult and pediatric brain, spine and neck disorders, such as vascular malformations, infections, seizures, stroke and neck disease;
- Understand adult spine pain management procedures and pediatric spine disorders;
- Define imaging standards and recommendations for quality assurance and patient safety;
- Recognize normal anatomy and pathology related to MRI of the major musculoskeletal joints;
- Implement the newest cartilage imaging sequences and utilize metal suppression for orthopedic hardware;
- Perform emerging MSK techniques including MR evaluation of peripheral neuropathies;
- Differentiate between internal derangement and normal postoperative imaging appearances of the shoulder and knee;
- Recognize benign processes that can appear malignant in the musculoskeletal system.
