Overview

Precision Cardiovascular Care Symposium:

Transitioning Care from Phenotypes to Genotypes 2024 Hybrid Meeting

Cardiovascular medicine is approaching a pivotal turning point, in which therapies introduced are shifting from those based on phenotype to those that treat the root underlying mechanism (endotype) and, more recently, the genetic cause (genotype). Such changes promise more effective therapies that promise to cure diseases instead of simply slowing down their progress. For this promise to be fulfilled, it will require more than developing new therapeutics -fundamental changes will need to occur in clinical practice, including how we identify at-risk patients, predict their disease trajectory, and monitor the benefit and side effects of new therapeutics.

Symposium objectives:

  • Provide an Overview of the Changing Landscape of Cardiovascular Diagnostics and Therapeutics
  • Discuss cutting-edge preclinical science in cardiovascular biology.
  • Review advances in translational biology, including new biomarker technology.
  • Provide a synopsis of current and pending clinical trials in precision cardiology.

Highlighted Topics:

  • RNA Biology to Treat Cardiovascular Disease
  • AAV Therapy: The Beginning, The End of the Beginning or The End
  • Basic Mechanisms Responsible for Cardiac Arrhythmia
  • Understanding the Cardiac Inflammatory Milieu and Potential Targets
  • Design of Clinical Trials for Rare Cardiac Disorders
  • Assessing the Safety and Efficacy of Gene Therapy for Cardiomyopathy
