Overview
Technological advancements revolutionized our ability to diagnose and treat thoracic diseases bronchoscopically. Endobronchial ultrasound is the standard of care in the diagnosis and staging of thoracic malignancy as well as benign diseases. Robotic bronchoscopy can allow the access of peripheral pulmonary lesions with unprecedented precision and accuracy. Optimally performing these procedures, in appropriate patients, is paramount and requires proper education and training. This year, there will be special emphasis on integrating advanced imaging modality during the robotic bronchoscopy and reviewing video of recorded live cases.
Join expert faculty for this highly-anticipated annual course, which will review these crucial advanced diagnostic and staging procedures, how to optimize performance, and provides optional hands-on workshops for in-person attendees.
2023 Lecture Topics (available in-person or virtually)
- EBUS TBNA
- Robotic Assisted Bronchoscopy
- Advanced Imaging for Robotic Bronchoscopy (NEW!)
- Cryobiopsy (lymph node and lung)
- Cytology and Molecular Analysis
- Preoperative Education
- Implementing New Technology
- Operationalizing Change
Ample time will be provided for Q&A and discussion with the course faculty. Additionally, a variety of recorded videos of live cases will be reviewed by the faculty.
Who Should Attend
The course is intended for practicing Pulmonologists, Intensivists, and Thoracic Surgeons, as well as trainees, RNs, APPs, RTs, and cytotechnologists, interested in advancing their understanding of advanced bronchoscopy for diagnostics, including robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, radial endobronchial ultrasound, and other navigational bronchoscopy, and cytologic specimen processing.
This educational activity is endorsed by the American Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP).
Objectives
- Implement advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy for peripheral pulmonary lesions, including radial endobronchial ultrasound, robotic bronchoscopy
- Explain the science and recognize the importance of cytology and specimen processing
- Discuss the science, technique, and role of cryobiopsy during bronchoscopy
- Recognize the role of advanced imaging during bronchoscopy
