Overview
The purpose of this meeting, “Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management,” is to gather leading scientists and clinicians in the field of therapeutic hypothermia and temperature management. A series of lectures by authorities in this field as well as round table discussions will be organized around a two-day meeting, allowing attendees interested in this topic to discuss the various obstacles that are ahead as temperature is utilized as a treatment paradigm in clinical situations. This will the 11th time the meeting is held; it is known internationally as an opportunity to learn about therapeutic hypothermia across multiple disciplines: cardiology, neurology, emergency medicine, trauma, and pediatrics.
Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Assess the importance of therapeutic hypothermia in post cardiac arrest.
- Analyze different approaches to individualize temperature management in patients with hematomas and ICP control in patients with diffuse brain injury.
- Evaluate intravascular cooling techniques with minimal variation in body temperature.
