Comprehensive Review of Family Medicine provides expert advice and clinical guidance for a holistic and practical approach to the biological, psychological, and social implications involved in a patient’s immediate care, clinical outcome, and long-term health.
Lectures from skilled, widely published, and national authoritative speakers focus on both commonly and uncommonly seen conditions: disorders in internal medicine, medical subspecialties, pediatrics, ob/gyn, neurology, psychiatry, dermatology, surgical areas, orthopedics, and musculoskeletal disorders. Additional presentations cover areas such as COVID-19 treatment, vaccines for adults and children, pain management, substance use disorder, LGBTQIA patients, domestic violence, malpractice, and more.
Learning Objectives
After viewing this activity, participants will demonstrate the ability to:
- Identify patients with type 2 diabetes who are candidates for insulin therapy
- Outline ways and methods to combat vaccine resistance in adults
- Describe early antiviral therapy that may be effective for outpatients with mild to moderate COVID-19
- Recognize the signs and symptoms of concussion, and describe evaluation and treatment plans
- Explain the differences between acute pain and chronic pain
- Discuss the criteria for referral to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon

- Distinguish between the uses for punch biopsy, shave biopsy, and incisional/excisional biopsy for skin lesions
- Outline the diagnostic skills regarding in-office blood pressure measurement and the implementation of proper blood pressure measurement techniques
- List the signs and symptoms of mosquito-borne diseases
- List topical and systemic treatments for various types of dermatitis
